Games Spotlight: The Lost City

The Lost City
Were you a fan of Myst or Riven, or any other click-and-explore adventure/puzzle games  back in the day? If so, you’ll want to check out The Lost City for your Fire. It has an average review rating of 4.25/5 across over 340 reviews.

Here’s a brief description of the game from the Amazon site:

Grandma was right. Nobody really believed her. Not even you, her favorite grandchild. But she was right. And more so than you could ever imagine. The city before you, deep in the mist shrouded forest, can’t be found on any map. It shouldn’t even exist. Though the city has been asleep for a long time, you feel a mysterious power begin to awaken from the ruins around you.

Legend has it the civilization that built this place could somehow control the seasons. But nobody listens to legends. Nobody except Grandma. You look again at the artifact she gave you. Close to this lost city, it almost seems alive in your hand. Could the secret magic, powerful enough to change the seasons, be real too?

Inspired by classic point and click adventure games, The Lost City features beautiful graphics that draw you into a mesmerizing adventure.

Top 500 Amazon Reviewer J. Chambers has this to say about the game:

“The Lost City” is the first graphical adventure game that I’ve played on my Kindle Fire, and I’m impressed. I’ve completed Chapter 1, and I’m working my way through Chapter 2 now. Although I’ve used a couple of hints, the puzzles and problems are challenging but are manageable. The graphics are attractive enough to make me look forward to moving on through the colorful landscape, collecting objects and figuring where and how to use them.

The Lost City is a click-and-explore adventure/puzzle game. To play, just explore the screen and tap anything that looks interesting or out of place. Sometimes this will cause things to happen onscreen (e.g., moving a lever opens a trap door), other times it will prompt clues to pop up. Solve the puzzles to solve the mystery of The Lost City.

Since the game doesn’t provide detailed instructions or a walkthrough, some reviewers have complained of getting “stuck” on certain screens or puzzles and not knowing how to continue the game. If you find you need a little help, YouTube member apprary has provided a series of how-to and walkthrough videos here.
