Apps Spotlight: Free and 99 Cent Games From GAMEVIL

GAMEVIL (like “anvil”, but for games) are the developers behind some of the most fun, funny and popular games in the Amazon App Store.

Cartoon Wars (4/5 stars, ages 9 and up, currently FREE) From Amazon:

Two tribes existed in the Cartoon World; the vicious Color Tribe and their slaves, the Black and White Cartoon Tribe. For generations the Black and White Cartoon Tribe were treated as property, and forced into slavery. Fortunately… some with bigger ideas existed amongst them. They gathered and began a revolt to free themselves, taking the battle to the Color Tribe. The inevitable war has begun: become the hero of the Black and White Cartoons and set your people free.

The fun continues in Cartoon Wars 2: Heroes (4.5/5 stars, ages 9 and up, currently FREE) From Amazon:

Cartoon Wars 2: Heroes – The most complete defense and real-time strategy game of the Cartoon Wars series! The best defense game is back! After generations of war in the Cartoon Kingdom, King K and his army were expelled with the prominence of Captain J. The people praised Captain J and crowned him as their new King. The exiled tribe swore vengeance as they embarked on their journey to find the King of the Monsters. The second chronicle begins as the battle to defend the kingdom continues!

Cartoon Wars: Gunner+ (4.5/5 stars, ages 9 and up, currently FREE) is yet another in the Cartoon Wars series. From Amazon:

Chased with ferocious troops on his back, Captain J fled into the mountains with a serious injury. The arrogant king, who once hailed his troops for the victory, faces an iminent danger yet again with his foe, Captain J.

From Korea to the World

TouchMix was originally developed by Ryuminus, and quickly moved to the top spot in Korea in the rhythm game genre. Gamevil, a leading mobile games publisher and developer widely known for role-playing games and sports titles, acquired Ryuminus and TouchMix late in 2010, and will expand the game into global markets.

Amazon reviewer Lavitz says:

I’ve been playing the game for a few hours now, and I must say I’m enjoying it. It reminds me of elite beat agents for the DS. The songs are cool, however there are only 8. Hopefully if they make a second one they will add more songs. The gameplay is solid. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is for the reason of limited songs. Beware though, easymode is easy, however normal and hard takes a bit of practice. Huge difficulty jump.
