He can remember nothing and begins to try to rebuild his memory based on clues such as a Swiss bank account, the number of which is implanted in his hip.

He soon realizes that he is being hunted and takes off with Marie on a search to find out who he is – and why he is being hunted.

Bourne is once again brought out of hiding, this time inadvertently by London-based reporter Simon Ross who is trying to unveil Operation Blackbriar–an upgrade to Project Treadstone–in a series of newspaper columns.

Information from the reporter stirs a new set of memories, and Bourne must finally, ultimately, uncover his dark past whilst dodging The Company’s best efforts in trying to eradicate him.

The events in this movie take place around the same time as the events in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007).

A reporter for The Guardian that is writing articles about the Operations Treadstone and Blackbriar is murdered and the American Senate Committee investigates the participation of the CIA directors and responsible for the programs.

USAF Colonel Eric Byer discovers the Outcome Operation, a defense program that uses green and blue pills to enhance the physical and mental capabilities of the agents. Knowing a CIA investigation is looming he issues a kill order for all Outcome agents, including Aaron Cross, an agent training in Alaska.

When Cross realizes he’s been targeted he must figure out who’s trying to kill him and why.
