When Erin Young begins socializing with her new peers after moving back to her hometown, she immediately feels out of place. Everyone around her seems to be carrying a secret, and like any girl who feels “outside the clique”, Erin is desperate to discover the truth. Why would this group of women, led by her best friend but seemingly spear-headed by the mysterious Azura Dane, be whispering in the halls like school girls?
While keeping busy at the elementary school and unpacking from the move back home, Erin makes it her mission to unearth the secrets this small town seems to be harboring. Spying on neighbors soon leads her much deeper into the secret group than she had intended, and Erin is forced to choose a life that she knows nothing about…or die wondering about it. Pressured into a quick decision, Erin finds herself deep in the mountains of Colorado fighting an unknown madman to save dozens of lives.

About The Author

Michelle Read didn’t realize she wanted to be an author until she had her first child. Although she always enjoyed writing, it hadn’t dawned on her that she might enjoy doing it “for real”. One day, sitting at a restaurant with her hubby and in-laws the tiniest thing happened. Thank goodness they were getting a free meal that day because otherwise she would have never been inspired! Michelle’s baby, who was just old enough to sit in a high-chair, took her sippy cup and threw it on the table in an adorable mini tantrum. The cup bounced once, and fell to the floor…or at least it would have if Michelle hadn’t caught the cup mid-flight. It was a strange and acrobatic catch that happened before she had even thought about it. And the best part was: nobody saw it. She was a little let down at first, but then began daydreaming about every mother having their own superpower, even if no one else knew about it. It was then that The Invisibles was born. Many long years later, Michelle Read actually wrote the story down that had given her so much delight, and shares it with the world in her debut novel.
Her non-fiction work is How to Be Poor, encouragement for mothers living at or below the poverty level. Keeping things light, and injecting humor often, Michelle gives pointers to young moms regarding how to treat your husband and children during financially difficult times. It’s a fun and enjoyable ride through the eyes of a family making ends meet, and how one wife took it upon herself to constantly improve even when life seemed to have other ideas.
