Thomas’ Review:

I found out they were making a movie based on this book and the commercial looked good so I went to the library and got the book. After I read the first chapter it seemed to be boring so I didn’t want to read the rest but I tried the second one and after that one I was hooked. So Liesel Meminger, lives in Germany around the time of Adolf Hitler’s rein has lost her brother, father and mother, and was dumped in a strange place not knowing who anyone was or even simply how to read.  Liesel is then brought up in a place where Jews were nothing more than animals, but after making friends with a Jew, she is brought to the realization that Jews were human beings too. Liesel Then discovers an obsession which is stealing books.  Taking place in Germany, Liesel, the book thief, learns to love her new family and learns how to read the books she stole and that is where the real story starts.  Full of suspense “The Book Thief” might be one of the best books I’ve ever read!
