Andrew’s Review:

Will was adopted by a Baron from the castle because his mother and father had died. The baron was a royal person in the castle, but the bad news was that Will had to be put to a job when he was older. That job was anything, the master had approved of it. Will wanted to be a knight so he could be like his father, but Sir Rodney, the leader of the warriors disapproves. Will was disapproved by Sir Rodney because he was skinny and can climb really well. After a few minutes, Ranger Chief Halt came in. He wanted to have Will as his apprentice. Will didn’t want to be a Ranger. A Ranger is a scout for the castle, an elite group, uses stealth as their advantage and they use a bow. The Baron had to think about it. Will went to a tree next to the building where they were being chosen. He climbed so he could get in to the window. He wanted to know about his future. When he got in, he found out he was chosen. The Ranger and Will got out of the castle to Halt’s cabin. When they got there Will was ordered to clean the house. Halt said to himself “It’s nice to have an apprentice again.”

Entertainment Value:
Yes, it is a good book to read for entertainment. I really enjoyed this book. It had thrilling moments that were just insane.

Educational Value:
No, it is mostly a book for entertainment. But it did have a lot of foreshadowing going on and you had to guess what was going to happen next.
