Andrew’s Review:
The Second Book of this wonderful educational series of Greek mythology starts out with Percy in his school gym playing a game. He makes the gym explode! Next, he returns to Camp Half Blood and sees his good friends Grover and Annabeth again. He also sees his enemy, Clarisse.
The normal camp director, Cheron, is no longer at the camp. He has been sent away. The new director, Mr. D, is not well liked by Percy and his friends. There is a quest that must be fulfilled, and Mr. D chooses Clarisse to do the job. Percy and his friends are very disappointed. They complain to Mr. D, but get no where.
Clarisse leaves on the quest, but so do Percy and his friends. They decide to go on the quest on their own. While on their quest, monsters begin to attack them. Clarisse crosses their path by ship. Clarisse travels on a ship of ghosts! She shoots a cannonball and destroys the attacking monsters. They all climbed aboard the ship. The final quest was to cross the Sea of Monsters! Some were even 500 feet tall. What will become of the crew and the ghosts? You must read the book to find out!
