American Horror Story: Asylum is in full swing on the FX network, and anyone who’s enjoying it but didn’t catch the first season (4.75/5 stars, currently priced at $1.99 per episode or $19.99 for the entire season to buy, currently FREE for Amazon Prime members to view) when it aired can now enjoy it in the form of Instant Videos. Better still, if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can watch it for free!
It’s important to note that while each season of American Horror Story includes some of the same key cast members, those actors are playing entirely different roles in each season, and the plotlines of each season are self-contained: season one has nothing to do with season two. It’s as if each season of American Horror Story is its own, standalone miniseries.
From IMDB:
Created by Ryan Murphy, of Glee and Popular, American Horror Story is an FX original series. Described as an anthology series, AHS chronicles fictionalized haunted locations, the living and the dead who interact within them. Each season has its own self-contained storyline and characters and it has been posed that each season will introduce a new location as well as new characters and storylines.
Premiering in October 2011, the first season focused its sights on a struggling family of three who move into a new house in LA. Each of them soon learn the house’s demonic secrets as well as the violent and selfish spirits within its walls.
Set in 1964, American Horror Story: Asylum [season two, currently airing on FX] takes us into a Church-run haven for the criminally insane, ruled with an iron fist by Sister Jude, a nun with a troubled past. Inside this locked down facility, danger lurks around every corner. From Nazis and serial killers, to mutants and aliens, no one is safe inside these walls.
Season two, American Horror Story: Asylum (4.75/5 stars, currently priced at $1.89 to buy per episode, $1.89 per episode if you buy a season pass to purchase the entire season as each new episode becomes available).
This series includes scenes of graphic violence, some nudity and disturbing imagery, so it is most definitely adults-only fare. As ghost stories and tales of murder, mayhem and madness go, it’s not to be missed.
