Magazines display beautifully on the Kindle Fire, and digital editions reduce clutter in your home and save trees. They’re usually less expensive per issue than their print counterparts, too. Add to this that many of them start with a 60-day free trial (2 issues for monthlies, 8 issues for weeklies, etc.), and it becomes a VERY good idea to look into digital when you’re considering a new subscription, or a renewal.
Remember: if you’re looking for the free, digital edition of a magazine you already subscribe to in the print edition, you need to look it up in the App Store Newsstand, NOT the Kindle Newsstand. Also, when browsing digital edition magazines and other periodicals in the Kindle Newsstand, take that average review rating with a grain of salt, and look at the 1- and 2-star reviews yourself; many are from customers who mistakenly bought a new subscription when they meant to sign up for the free, digital edition that comes with their existing print subscription.
