Music Spotlight: Under The Covers With 69 Cent Amazon MP3s

Sometimes you’ll hear a cover version of a favorite old song and think, “The original was better.” Other times you’ll think, “This isn’t like the original, but I really like it.” Amazon’s offering a selection of MP3 cover songs for just 69 cents each, and you’re sure to find a bunch of songs among them that will surprise you—in a good way—with their different interpretations of songs you know and love.

The biggest surprises on the list may be songs you never realized were covers to begin with, such as Aretha Franklin’s cover of Respect (originally written and performed by Otis Redding), Santana’s cover of Black Magic Woman (originally written and performed by UK blues legend Peter Green), Jimi Hendrix’ cover of All Along the Watchtower (originally written and performed by Bob Dylan), and Peter, Paul and Mary’s Leaving on a Jet Plane (originally written and performed by John Denver).

Among covers of better-known originals, you’ll find Rod Stewart’s Have I Told You Lately [Unplugged Version], Cheryl Crow’s The First Cut Is The Deepest, LeeAnn Rimes’ Amazing Grace, and The Fugees’ Killing Me Softly With His Song, plus many, many more.
