It’s 2065. Environmental and social chaos are poised to disrupt all life on earth. Some regions are still controlled by their governments, others – beyond the walls surrounding the major cities – are controlled by gangs and rebel armies.

Dr Michael Khan, a brilliant geneticist struggling to save his wife from a deadly virus, is recruited by a secret organization called Gendigm whose members believe that human greed and competitiveness are at the root of our destruction and are intent on bringing about the next stage in human evolution before it’s too late. They call them Homo novus: more cooperative, more generous, more resistant to disease, and ready to take over the future.
When the military learns of Michael’s research, he is hired to create genetic resistance to a bio-weapon being deployed against his country. However, the military has its own agenda, and Michael soon learns that nobody, not even his own government, can be trusted.

Reviews

Researched to perfection. A great read full of intelligent concepts backed by science. It could be a blockbuster movie. Looking forward to his next book.” —M. Fields-Kasuba, Amazon Reviewer

“Michael Crichton meets Margaret Atwood. A perfect combination!” —Matt Clunes, bestsciencefictionbookreviews.com

“By the end of the first couple of chapters, I was firmly hooked and read straight through till I was finished with the entire book.” —Avatheps, Amazon Reviewer

“The protagonist has the right motivation, but he is thrown against deception, love, disease and the depravity of humans fighting to survive. The twists and turns kept my attention to the end.” —Sadie Rose, Amazon Reviewer

About The Author

Thomas Norwood grew up in Melbourne, Australia. He spent most of his twenties traveling the world and trying not to take things too seriously, and most of his thirties trying to make up for lost time by taking everything way too seriously. As he approaches forty, he hopes he can find a happy balance.

Thomas currently lives in the Yarra Valley with his wife and two cats along with a large assortment of native animals. His house runs on solar power and rainwater, and his vegetable garden is slowly improving. Although he’s not actively preparing for an apocalypse, he thinks you can never be too careful!
