Hastia’s Review:
Caroline was out in the woods when she heard a noise. She wasn’t sure what it was, so she kept on walking. Then she heard it again. She found out where it came from. It was a man lying on the ground, he was hurt with a broken leg. Caroline didn’t know him at first but then suddenly she knew it was her father. Her father had been held in prison by the British because he was sailing on a boat when the British realized he had an American flag on his boat. Caroline asked him how he escaped and got here he said he used the map Caroline made him. It was getting darker and Caroline decided to stay with her father until it was morning. When it was morning Caroline made a crutch for her father to walk better. They walked home and when they got there Caroline’s mother was worried sick, but when she saw her husband she was so happy. Everything was back to normal except Caroline’s father needed to rest and heal. Everything was great.

Educational Value:
I think this book is educational because it taught me what Americans had to go through. Americans should have never been treated so bad. I am so glad they got independence.

Entertainment Value:
I think this book is entertaining because I was happy that Caroline found her father. I also liked it because it was interesting to know what she was hearing.
