Kids on Fire: Blue’s Clues and Wonder Pets Prime Videos

Blue’s Clues (5/5 stars) is an excellent, educational and fun series for preschoolers, and seasons one and two are currently available for Amazon Prime members to view for free!

From IMDB:

Blue’s Clues is a show where the two main characters are Blue and Steve (1996-2001), or in later episodes, Joe(2001- ). Blue is a dog who always wants to do something but Steve never knows what. Steve interacts with the viewers through the television and they play Blue’s clues, to see what Blue wants to do.

Blue is a puppy who puts her paw prints on three clues. Steve has to deduce the clues (with the help of off-screen children) to figure out what Blue wants to do.

Preschoolers love to play along with this brightly-colored, interestingly animated and musical show. First they “help” Steve find the pawprints that mark Blue’s clues, then they “help” him figure out what Blue’s trying to say. For example, if Blue stamps a blanket, a pillow and a storybook with her pawprint, she’s asking Steve to put her to bed and read her a story.

The Wonder Pets (4.5/5 stars) is another very popular program with the preschool set, and for good reason!

In every episode a team of classroom pets (a guinea pig, duckling and young turtle, all voiced by children) don their hero gear and come to the rescue of another young animal in trouble. The “trouble” is never anything very serious, so don’t worry that the program might frighten little ones. It could be that a kitten has climed up a tree and is afraid to climb down, or a baby zebra has blended in so well with the herd that he can’t find his mother.

Kids love animals, and another draw of this show is watching the three hero friends figure out how to cooperate and use available tools and materials to solve simple problems.

Season one is such a bargain, even if you ARE a Prime member you might want to pick it up because kids will want to watch these episodes over and over again.
