Macie’s Review:

This story is about a boy named Michael.  He lives in Idaho in the big city.  He has a secret and he does not tell anyone.  The only person that knew about his secret was Ostin (or Austin, his parents spelled his name wrong).  He has an unusual power he was given at birth.  Michael uses his powers to help his new friend Taylor.  Taylor was kidnapped and Michael saves her, but in the middle of all this, Michael’s mother was kidnapped and taken away to a place in California.

Educational Value: In this story his friend Ostin is super smart, and he almost knows everything there is to know about the human body.  So if you read very carefully you might learn something very interesting.  Ostin is the character of the story that probably solved all the problems with his scientific knowledge.

Entertainment Value: This book had lots of action in it, and also there were other children that had similar electric powers (that includes Taylor).  There are characters that help escape from the prison with Ostin, Taylor, and Michael.  I think that this book would be good for a 5th grader to probably middle school (depending on how well they read).  I thought this book was awesome and really fun to read.  I hope that there is a second book on what happens after they get out of the prison cell.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
