Bargain Alert: Gotye’s MP3 Album Making Mirrors Is $5, This Week Only

Making Mirrors
If you’ve been enjoying the Gotye (pronounced go – tee – ay) single, Somebody That I Used To Know, then it’s probably worth your while to grab the entire MP3 album, Making Mirrors, while it’s on sale this week for $5.

The album is rated 4.5/5 stars across 48 Amazon customer reviews, and is currently ranked at #3 on Amazon’s Alternative Rock chart. Amazon reviewer Jonathan M. Victor says:

I bought this for the singles Somebody I Used to Know and Easy Way Out. Those songs are great, but I was pleased when I found that the rest of the disc is an absolute treasure. In fact, I think every track is fantastic, save for perhaps the brief opener. I’m shocked at how good each song is…

[Gotye] seems best at …taking a somewhat simple or typical subject and creating a gorgeous piece of music out of. He takes the simplest, most basic building blocks of a song and places them at the core of the music, weaving simply effective layers around those. This disc is an example of mastering that craft.

It’s the best record I think I’ve heard in the last year or more. Truly a great piece of work. Listen to it with headphones and pay attention. You will be greatly rewarded.

Radar Online seconds that opinion in its 4/5 star review of Making Mirrors:

…when Gotye released Making Mirrors I publicly said ‘Oh this will be some album that only musicians will like…Anyway, I loaded it up in to my phone so I could listen to it while I commute and …it’s actually a great album.

It’s good. Real good. Do yourself a favour, go buy it and stop being a cool kid like I was trying to be.

Gotye’s Making Mirrors is available as an MP3 download, $5 for this week only, and you can sample all the tracks here on its product page before you buy.
