Free App of the Day is Back to Bed

It’s your friendly KF on KND editor April here, to personally introduce today’s Amazon Free App of the Day: it’s the beautiful, unusual, surrealist and slightly creepy Back to Bed.

As of this writing it only has an average review rating of 3/5 stars, but don’t let that discourage you from giving it a try because the negative reviews are mostly based on difficulties installing to specific, non Kindle Fire devices. Several other reviewers say the game controls are too difficult, though that was not my experience playing through the first couple of levels.

For fans of unusual and artistic apps, I’d say this one is a must-have. Note that while it’s rated for “all ages”, very young children may find the surrealist settings and characters disturbing.

From Amazon:

Back to Bed is a 3D puzzle game with a surreal twist. It tells the story of Bob, an unlucky narcoleptic who has a tendency to fall asleep in his boring office and then proceed to sleepwalk into the dangers of the big city. Luckily for Bob he has his subconscious guardian Subob, who spawns from the mind of Bob and whose job it is to both guide and protect the sleepwalker back to the safety of his bed.

The ever vigilant Subob must now guide the constantly sleepwalking Bob on a journey through a series of surreal painting-like cityscapes where the boundaries between Bob’s dreams and reality have vanished, creating a artistic dream world that is recognizable, yet totally different from the real world, where many things are not what they seem.
