Korey’s Review:
The Witches is about a little boy who goes to live with grandmother in Norway after his parents are killed in a car accident. His grandmother tells the little boy about witches that look like real women but that want to destroy kids. His grandma tells the little boy that when she was a little girl, five of her friends were taken by witches.  The boys grandma teaches him how to spot a witch, and tells him about how there is a ruler of the witches that goes from country to country to hold special meetings with the different witches of that country.

The boy and his grandma move back to England.  Not long after moving, the boy is in the backyard building a tree house, when a lady comes up to him wearing gloves, which witches wear to hide their claws.  The lady tries to get the boy from coming down from the tree house with her snake but he refuses. After the lady leaves he goes and tells his grandma about the lady and she tells him she was a witch and he is not going to school alone.

The book continues with many encounters with witches throughout the story and there are many adventures. I definitely recommend this book to any one that likes to read books that are exciting.

Entertainment Value:
This book was entertaining because it is very suspenseful and I learned a lot about witches. I give this book 4 stars.

Educational Value:
This book was educational because it tells you that witches are not real. I do not think witches were real but some people do.
