Thomas’ Review:

I’ve read the first two books in the series “His Dark Materials” which include, The Golden Compass, and, The Subtle Knife, and they were pretty good so I decided to read this one but it turned out to be pretty bad! I mean the idea was good but the way he wrote the story is the part I didn’t like. If you, like me, have read the first two books and want to know how it ends then skip to the last five chapters and start reading!

So we left off in the second book with Lyra getting captured and Will having to go look for her and while all that is happening the war with ‘ the Authority’ is getting closer and closer until its right at the Lord Asriel’s gates. Will rescues Lyra and in the process breaks the knife which he has to find out how to fix. After this they go to the land of the dead and sacrifice their daemons to rescue some souls and finally reach Asriel’s castle to help with the war. I would tell you how it ends but I don’t want to spoil it for you.

Entertainment Value:

Two out of five stars.

Educational Value:

It does not really have an educational purpose, It was geared more towards entertainment.
