Prime Instant Video Spotlight: Vikings

If you’re looking for something to fill the TV doldrums of December, when all your favorite shows won’t be bringing out new episodes till after New Year’s, consider screening The History Channel’s excellent new series, Vikings (4.75/5 stars).

It’s currently available as part of the Prime Instant Video catalog, so Amazon Prime members can view it for free, but individual episodes and the entire first season are also available for purchase ($1.99 per episode, $15.99 for all 9 episodes of the first season in Standard Definition – – – – – $2.99 per episode, $23.99 for the full first season in High Definition). Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok: the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the saga of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. Reviewers are loving this show, so if you’re a fan of historical, epic adventures like Gladiator, Troy or Alexander, you’ll probably like Vikings just as much.
