Here’s the set-up:

Robert Moneypenny – “As good or better than “This Present Darkness.”

David Hecht – “Reminiscent of C.S. Lewis, John Bunyon and Frank Peretti.”

James Gorostola – “A must read!  I’ve read other books like it, however this book beats them all!”

“Inimicus” is Latin for “enemy.”  Pastor Denegare succumbed to political correctness by failing to affirm the exclusivity of Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven during a national television interview.  Was he afraid of losing his “empire” as a mega-church pastor?  He can’t sleep, and the longest night of his life is about to begin at midnight.  God removed the protective hedge around his church and his house.  Guess who moved in?  Just don’t read it before bedtime!

Excerpt

The now infamous television interview was history. Pastor Denegare caved in to the well-known talk show host and he succumbed to political correctness. He didn’t defend his beliefs. Only hours ago his faith was tested and he let the fear of losing his job and financial status become the determining factor for his answer. He was what you would call a “heavy hitter” in the ministry. Now he was paying the consequences with immeasurable guilt. Home in bed with the lights off he found himself miles away from any sleep and haunted by his betrayal. Not too far across town, you would have thought that an orchestra was tuning up. Hooting and hollering accompanied laughing and screaming as stories were exchanged. Some noises were high pitched and others were reminiscent of a ship’s foghorn. But there were no musical instruments present that night, just instruments of unrighteousness. The gavel hit the podium and the noise subsided from the thousands in attendance. A tall thin frame without a neck was standing behind it. His shoulders were higher than the top of his head, much like that of a vulture. Decipio called the meeting to attention. “Are you angry?” he bellowed out. The overwhelming crescendo of a response in unison resulted as the screams were so loud they shook the chandelier donated by Mr. & Mrs. Whelbinger. Seated on that chandelier was a wormy figure named Deridio . He took advantage of the head start caused by the noise and swayed to and fro. He had no difficulty at all asking a question while simultaneously laughing, “Decipio! How is it that we have not encountered resistance from Michael while using this huge church for our meeting?” That question must have permeated the thoughts of all those who were summoned because it became deafly quiet in the sanctuary. Slowly, the corner of Decipio’s lips turned upward ever so slightly. His left brow raised high to his forehead, what little of it there was. Like the last drops of a cappuccino machine, drool fell off his canines which were evident on his overbite.
